The Gospel of Evidence — Healing in the Kingdom of God
Pain and immobility can be overwhelming. A fractured hip often brings swelling, bruising, difficulty standing, and a deep ache that pierces both body and heart. But even in this condition, the voice of Jesus speaks the same truth He spoke to His disciples: “Heal the sick… say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you” (Luke 10:9). The healing of the sick is the proof that the Gospel is not just words, but power—the evidence that the same Jesus who rose from the dead still works through His people.
When Jesus sent His followers out to heal, He was revealing the heart of the Father—a God who binds up what is broken and strengthens what is weak (Ezekiel 34:16). A fractured bone may take time to mend, but in God’s presence, restoration begins the moment faith awakens. You may feel the weight of your injury, the slow progress of recovery, and the isolation that pain can bring. But know this: your Shepherd has not forgotten you. He has said, “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD” (Jeremiah 30:17).
Jesus’ ministry was not stopped by opposition, and His healing power was not limited by circumstance. Even when His enemies crucified Him, they only fulfilled God’s greater purpose—resurrection life for all who believe. That same resurrection life now flows through every believer. The early Church knew this truth well; they saw the sick healed and the dead raised because they believed Jesus was still alive, working through them.
True Christianity is the Gospel of evidence—the Gospel that shows what God can do. When you believe His Word, your healing begins to manifest, not only in your body but also in your spirit and emotions. The pain of a fractured hip can be replaced by the strength of renewed hope. Remember: God Himself said He would “bind up that which was broken.” So as you rest, imagine His hands—not the surgeon’s or therapist’s alone, but His—aligning, restoring, strengthening every part of your body.
When you say, “I am healed,” you agree with heaven’s decree. If He says, “I will strengthen you,” then you say, “I receive that strength.” Faith does not deny the pain—it declares that the power of Christ is greater than the pain. Let your room become a sanctuary of faith. Let His Word become medicine to your bones (Proverbs 3:8). The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now quickens your mortal body. You are not forgotten; you are being restored by the Great Physician.
The Good Shepherd Who Binds the Broken
In Ezekiel 34, God reproves the false shepherds who neglected the flock. “The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken.” But then He gives a glorious promise: “Behold, I, even I, will… bind up that which was broken, and strengthen that which was sick.” (Ezekiel 34:16). If you have suffered a fracture, you are in the care of this same Shepherd. He Himself will bind up what is broken.
Physical healing and spiritual comfort often move together. A broken hip can cause not only physical pain but also emotional weariness—sleeplessness, fear of falling again, or discouragement from being dependent on others. Yet Jesus, the Good Shepherd, draws near to strengthen both body and heart. He brings rest in the night watches and grace for every slow step. Remember Acts 20:10–12, when Paul prayed and the young man who had fallen and broken his body was raised up alive—then they all “ate the Lord’s Supper together and rejoiced.” Healing led to fellowship and joy again.
Many struggle with uncertainty—“Is it God’s will to heal me?” But Scripture answers clearly: His redemptive name is Jehovah-Rapha, “the Lord who heals you.” His names reveal His eternal nature, and He cannot deny His name. Just as He remains Jehovah-Jireh our Provider, He remains Jehovah-Rapha our Healer. Jesus’ attitude toward sickness never changed—He healed all who came to Him.
Faith grows as you hear and speak the Word. Healing is not earned by perfection but received through trust. Even if your recovery feels slow, remember that divine life flows constantly from the Vine to the branches—moment by moment, unceasingly. The same Spirit who gives you breath is repairing what was fractured, knitting bone to bone, cell to cell. Your part is to stay connected, abiding in Him through prayer and praise.
Let hope rise in you today. Declare with confidence: “The Lord is restoring me. My bones shall rejoice again!” (Psalm 51:8). You are not abandoned in your weakness—you are being strengthened by the Shepherd who carries His wounded lambs. Healing is not only possible; it is promised. And as you recover, your testimony will become a living witness to others that the Kingdom of God has truly come near.
