High Cholesterol and Healing Prayer: Restoring Balance and Vitality

The Assurance of God’s ‘Package Deal’ for Healing

The journey of faith often brings us face-to-face with physical challenges, and dealing with something like high cholesterol can be daunting. It’s a condition where too much of a waxy, fat-like substance builds up in the blood vessels, often leading to no immediate symptoms but silently increasing the risk of serious health issues like heart disease or stroke. While you may not feel sudden pain, the knowledge of this risk can bring worry and fear. But here is the magnificent truth of the Gospel: Jesus Christ provided a “package deal” on the Cross, which includes healing for our bodies.

The Complete Victory of the Cross

Many of us, when we are “born again,” gratefully accept the forgiveness of sins—one glorious part of the package—but we often leave the other parts unclaimed. Your provided words remind us: “Just as He bore our sins so that we could be forgiven, He bore our sicknesses so that we could be healed.” This is an incredible and often overlooked component of Christ’s sacrifice.

The Bible makes it clear that Jesus “took our sicknesses and diseases” (Matthew 8:17, paraphrasing Isaiah 53:4). The healing we seek for our bodies, whether from a severe illness or a chronic condition like high cholesterol, is anchored in the finished work of the Cross. This healing isn’t based on how “good” or “righteous” we’ve been.
We are wisely warned that “believing, even naively, that our ‘goodness’ merits God’s power kills the ‘faith connection’ stone dead.” No! Healing is a free gift, received by faith, just like salvation.

Jesus’ Ministry as Our Blueprint

When we look at the ministry of Jesus, we see a constant flow of “healing and deliverance miracles.” Acts 10:38 tells us that God “anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.” Notice two key things:

  1. Jesus Restores Us: Every person He ministered to before the Cross was “unsaved” (unregenerate), yet He still healed them! If Jesus healed those outside of covenant faith, how much more is He willing to heal us, His children, today? “Jesus restores us. Jesus heals us today!”
  2. Satan is the Cause of Sickness: here is a biblical perspective: “It was Satan who struck Job and his family causing all kinds of calamities and sickness.” In Luke 13, Jesus healed a woman bent over for eighteen years, declaring that “Satan has bound” her. The works of Jesus were always about demonstrating the power of God and dismantling the works of the enemy.

The same power and commission that was on Jesus has been given to us. We have been “assigned and commissioned to take the gospel to all the world around us, and the only way we will be able to accomplish this is with miracles just like Jesus did!” This means we have the authority to speak to the sickness, including the imbalances causing high cholesterol, and command restoration in Jesus’ name. Trust that His victory is complete, and His healing is available for you right now.

Walking in Faith, Power, and God’s Timing

Facing a diagnosis like high cholesterol requires not only spiritual assurance but also practical faith steps that align with God’s method of administering healing. God is not only the God of the miraculous; He is the God of order, timing, and using what’s available.

Power Through the Word and Natural Elements

Your Bible says that “The power of God is resident in His Word.” Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word as “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.” God’s healing power is administered through this powerful Word.

  • Build Your Faith: We are encouraged that “the more we meditate in the miracles in the Bible the more faith is built in our hearts to expect God to do similar and even greater things today.” To combat the worry associated with high cholesterol, make it a habit to meditate on the healing miracles of Jesus.
Confess out loud: “By His stripes, I am healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
  • Embrace Practical Wisdom: Look at the example of Hezekiah. God could have healed him instantly, but He directed him to use a “paste made from figs.” This story confirms: “God is not against the use of natural elements through which (or along with which) His healing is administered.” This gives you the freedom to wisely use both divine faith and natural means, like diet, exercise, or prescribed medication, as a means through which God’s healing power can be channeled to normalize your cholesterol levels and restore your vessels. The one does not cancel out the other; instead, they can work together under the umbrella of God’s providence.

Intimacy, Obedience, and Glorifying the Father

Jesus’ success in ministry wasn’t a “technique”; it was a result of “Ministering out of intimacy and obedience.” He sought only to “glorify the Father” in all things. He was “conscious and yielded to the Father’s timing.”

Sometimes, healing can be instantaneous—a lifetime of pain gone “in a few seconds.” Other times, you may ask: “Why Are Some Healings Gradual?”

If your healing involves a gradual return to health, do not be discouraged! Your role is to:

  1. Walk in Intimacy: Stay close to the Father, seeking His presence, as Jesus did.
  2. Walk in Obedience: Be diligent to forgive others (“Forgiving Others” is vital) and to “abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,” which includes making wise, Holy Spirit-led choices about your physical health.
  3. Use Your Authority: Ministers of the Gospel simply “commanded the bone to align itself” and restoration occurred. You are a son or daughter of God, with the Holy Spirit of the Son sent into your heart. You have the authority to speak to your body, commanding the lipid levels to be balanced and your arteries to be clear and whole in the name of Jesus.

Keep pressing in with faith, trust in God’s perfect timing, and use the wisdom He provides both supernaturally and practically. Whether instant or gradual, God’s ultimate plan is for your complete restoration, which will one day be fully realized when “this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:53 NKJV). You are covered by the complete victory of Christ!

High Blood Pressure and Healing Prayer: Finding Peace and Restoration

The Power That Adjusts the Body and the Heart

High blood pressure can bring tightness in the neck and shoulders. It can make the heart race and the body tense, as though the very flow of life within is being squeezed. But God did not design your body to live in a constant storm. He created it to flow with peace. The same Spirit that caused frozen elbows to move, stiff muscles to relax, and bones to realign is still at work today. Healing is not a memory—it is a present reality in the Name of Jesus.

The power of God adjusts more than bones and nerves—it adjusts hearts. When anxiety rises, the blood vessels constrict. But when faith rises, peace expands. “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you” (John 14:27). That peace isn’t an emotion; it’s the Person of Christ flowing through your veins. As you trust Him, His mighty power brings divine regulation to your system.

Many have been told that healing is not for today—that God somehow stopped caring about the sick. But that is a lie of the devil! Jesus Christ healed yesterday, He heals today, and He will heal tomorrow. He never said, “God wants you sick.” He said, “Be made whole.” He never said, “You must suffer to glorify Me.” He said, “The Kingdom of God has come near you.” When the Kingdom comes near, sickness must flee!

God’s healing power is not earned; it’s a free gift. You do not have to perform for Him to heal you. He heals because He loves. Just as the rain of “liquid light” flooded the earth and caused millions of praising people, so the rain of the Holy Spirit falls upon your life now—softening, restoring, and balancing what was once tight and strained. Your blood pressure may have been high, but your spirit is rising higher still, carried by His peace.

Let this truth be settled deep within: God wants you well. He wants your heart calm, your mind quiet, and your body aligned. You are not a burden to Him; you are His temple. And when the Great Physician moves within His temple, He leaves nothing unchanged. Breathe deeply. Rest in His presence. The same Jesus who made blind eyes see and paralyzed limbs walk now speaks to your blood, saying, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Healing That Flows Through Faith and Obedience

Faith does not ignore symptoms—it overrules them. You may feel your pulse racing or sense pressure in your head, but God’s Word speaks a greater reality: “By His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). High blood pressure may try to exalt itself against the peace of God, but the weapons of your warfare are mighty through God. Every time you speak the name of Jesus over your body, spiritual authority is released to bring it into divine order.

The trickery of Satan is to convince us that sickness is somehow holy or deserved. He perverts our thinking so we tolerate what Jesus already defeated. Bad attitudes toward healing—such as doubt, fear, or resignation—are not demons themselves, but they open doors to oppression. That’s why we cast down every imagination and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. God’s will for you is healing and wholeness, not survival under pressure.

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading. Sometimes, He may prompt you to rest, change habits, or pray in tongues quietly until peace fills your chest. Other times, He may send someone to lay hands on you or anoint you with oil. However it comes, the correct way to minister healing is knowing that God desires the sick to be healed and delivered. We do not beg Him to heal; we enforce His will on earth as it is in heaven.

Even Paul, when afflicted by a “thorn in the flesh,” was not dealing with a disease but with demonic opposition to his calling. Satan’s messenger tried to buffet him, but God’s grace proved stronger. Likewise, whatever pressures your body feels, God’s grace is sufficient to steady your heart and calm your blood. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is regulating every system within you now.

So rise up, beloved. Stand in your living room, lift your hands, and say:
“Father, I thank You that Your power is adjusting every part of me. My blood pressure is under the authority of Jesus Christ. My heart is strong, my mind is peaceful, and my body is whole.”

As you worship, liquid light—the healing rain of His Spirit—flows through you. You are not striving for healing; you are receiving what has already been paid for. The Spirit’s presence regulates what medicine could not reach. Today, your heart learns a new rhythm: the rhythm of grace, the steady beat of peace that says, “You shall live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord.”
