Lyme Disease and Healing Prayer : Bible Verses for Strength and Recovery

Is it God’s Will to Heal Lyme Disease?

Living with Lyme disease can feel like an isolating battle. The symptoms—the crushing fatigue that sleep doesn’t fix, the migrating joint pain, the terrifying “brain fog” where thoughts just won’t connect, or the sudden nerve sensations—can make you feel trapped in your own body. It is easy in these seasons to wonder about God’s stance toward your suffering. You might know He can heal, but the lingering question often whispers, “Is He willing to heal me?”

We find a profound answer in the Gospel of Mark. A leper, a man isolated by a terrible, flesh-eating condition, approached Jesus. He knelt and said, “If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.” This man did not doubt God’s power; he doubted God’s willingness. This is where many of us find ourselves when a diagnosis lingers. We know God is powerful, but we wonder if it is His will to intervene in our specific case. Jesus’ response to the leper is His response to you today. He did not hesitate. He did not lecture the man. He simply said, “I will; be thou clean.”

We must understand that God is not trying to hide His will from us. Ephesians 5:17 instructs us not to be unwise but to understand what the will of the Lord is. God wants us to be crystal clear: If it is good, receive it; if it is evil, resist it. Sickness, which steals your vitality and joy, is an enemy to be resisted, not a lesson to be embraced.

Prophet Isaiah looked forward to the cross and saw a transaction that included your physical body. The scripture tells us that “it pleased the Lord to bruise Him.” Why? So that Jesus could pay the penalty for sin and its consequences. The Hebrew implies that He was put to “sickness” or “grief” on our behalf. Isaiah saw healing as a present-tense truth: “and with His stripes, we are healed.” The beating Jesus endured purchased your freedom from the curse.

This brings us to the power of your confession. You are “redeemed.” This is a legal spiritual term. It means you have been bought back from the power of the enemy. Much like we teach children to repeat truths until they stick, you must teach your spirit to say, “I am redeemed.” When the fear of a flare-up comes, or when you worry about the long-term effects of Lyme, you must answer those thoughts. You are redeemed from the curse of the Law. You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from a position of victory that Christ already won.

Do not view your symptoms as a sign of God’s reluctance. View them as trespassers on property that has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Just as Jesus gave His disciples power and authority to cure diseases and preach the Kingdom, that same authority is available to believers today. He is willing.

Finding Peace and Mercy in the Healing Journey

The journey of healing often involves navigating through an atmosphere of doubt. We live in a world that operates on logic and medical statistics, which can sometimes act as a “Nazareth of unbelief.” In Jesus’ own hometown, His ability to do mighty works was limited not by a lack of power, but by the atmosphere of unbelief and the “traditions of men.” When you are dealing with a complex illness like Lyme—which can affect the heart, the nervous system, and energy levels—you may encounter people or even religious traditions that suggest God no longer heals, or that this is just “your cross to bear.”

We must labor to get past these traditions and look at the plain Word of God. Unbelief shuts the door, but faith opens it. However, the enemy often tries to trap us in a different kind of unbelief: self-condemnation. You might think, “I haven’t prayed enough,” “I ate the wrong thing,” or “I didn’t have enough faith, that’s why I’m still sick.”

This is where the beautiful doctrine of mercy steps in. The devil loves to lie and say, “If you had done everything right, you would be healed.” But God’s mercy covers our ignorance and our mistakes. You do not have to be perfect to be healed; you just have to be loved by Him. Mercy makes up for where our discipline falls short.

Consider the story of Lazarus in John 11. By the time Jesus arrived, the situation was beyond hopeless. Lazarus had been dead for four days. Martha, looking at the natural circumstances, cried out, “Lord, by this time he stinketh!” Perhaps you feel that way about your health—that the situation has decayed too far, or the bacteria have done too much damage to be reversed.

But Jesus is not intimidated by the duration of the problem or the severity of the decay. He commanded the stone to be rolled away. He did not speak to a living man; He spoke to a corpse. He cried, “Lazarus, come forth!” Immediately, the supernatural power of God overrode the natural laws of death and decomposition.

If God can reverse death and decay in a body that has been in the grave for four days, He can certainly command the spirochetes in your blood to die and your inflamed tissues to be restored. The voice of Truth is louder than the voice of symptoms. The resurrection power that raised Lazarus is the same power available to you.

When the religious leaders saw the miracle of Lazarus, they were afraid because they couldn’t control the supernatural. Do not let fear or the complexity of Lyme disease control your narrative. We serve a God who interrupts funerals and reverses verdicts. Your part is to trust in His mercy, ignore the “stink” of the current situation, and listen for His voice calling you to “come forth” into health.

Jesus has authority over all power of the enemy. Whether it is a “bitter pill” in life or a bitter diagnosis, His stripes have provided the remedy. Rest in His mercy today, knowing that your healing is not based on your performance, but on His finished work.

Liver Disease and Healing Prayer : Biblical Renewal and Restoration

Scriptural Promises for Liver Healing and Health

The ministry of Jesus was never divided. He preached the Good News, but He also demonstrated it with compassion and power. In Scripture, people didn’t just gather to hear His words — they came to be healed of their diseases. His message and His miracles flowed together, revealing God’s heart: He wants people whole.

When someone faces liver disease, the burden can feel overwhelming. Fatigue presses down. The skin and eyes may turn yellow. Pain can stab or ache beneath the ribs. Appetite can disappear. Fluids may swell the legs or abdomen. Confusion or fogginess may creep in when the liver cannot clear toxins. The body feels fragile; the future feels uncertain.

But into all of this, Jesus steps with the same authority He carried in the Gospels. He sees the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — and He asks the same gentle question He asked a man who had been sick for 38 years: “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6). That question is not a test. It is an invitation. Jesus never mocks weakness or shames the hurting. He awakens hope.

The man at the pool offered excuses, not faith. He didn’t know who Jesus was, didn’t ask for healing, and didn’t even answer the question directly. Yet Jesus simply said, “Rise, take up your bed, and walk.” And Scripture says, “Immediately the man was made well.” This was a sovereign act of compassion — Jesus moving toward someone who felt stuck, overlooked, and forgotten.

If you are facing liver disease, Jesus is not waiting for perfect faith. He is moving toward you with perfect love. He is the One who bore your sickness and carried your pain (Isaiah 53:4–5). On the cross, He took not only sin but the consequences that cling to sin — disease, weakness, fear, and shame. You may feel broken, but He calls you beloved. You may feel damaged, but He calls you His own.

A powerful practice is to see what Jesus did for you. Scripture speaks about the eyes of your understanding being enlightened (Ephesians 1:18). Close your eyes and picture this:

Picture Jesus at the cross, carrying your sorrow. Now picture every part of your liver disease — the tests, the pain, the swelling, the fear — laid upon Him. He takes it willingly. Then picture Him rising from the tomb, radiant with resurrection life, leaving your sickness behind in the grave.

This isn’t imagination for imagination’s sake — this is agreement with the truth. You are uniting your heart with what God has already done in Christ.

Pray this confession:

“Lord Jesus, I see my sickness laid upon You. I see You carrying what I cannot carry. I see You rising without it. I receive Your life in my body, especially my liver. You are my Healer. You are my hope. You are my strength.”

Every healing begins with seeing Jesus rightly — powerful, compassionate, and present. He is with you now.

Standing in Faith for Bodily Renewal

Faith is not a vague positive feeling. It is a living response to the Word of God. Jesus said, “Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart… he will have whatever he says.” (Mark 11:23). Your “mountain” may be symptoms, a diagnosis, test results, or fear — but Jesus taught that mountains are spoken to, not surrendered to.

Healing often involves two key movements: resisting what comes from the enemy and receiving what comes from God.

Scripture shows that sickness sometimes has a spiritual dimension. Jesus healed a woman who had been bent over for eighteen years and said she had been “bound by Satan” (Luke 13:16). He also healed many who were “oppressed by the devil” (Acts 10:38). This does not mean every sickness is caused directly by a demon, but it does mean the enemy enjoys using sickness to discourage, torment, or steal hope.

You never have to fear the enemy. Jesus has given you authority in His name. You can bind the power of darkness and command every unclean influence to leave your body. You can declare that no weapon formed against you will prosper. You can speak peace over your mind and strength over your body.

At the same time, healing is also about receiving — receiving mercy, receiving love, receiving the life of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. That resurrection life can touch your liver, your blood, your cells, your mind.

Here are practical steps of faith:

1. Speak life over your body.
Say this aloud:

“In the name of Jesus, I speak to this liver disease. Be cast into the sea. Inflammation, go. Damage, reverse. Cells, regenerate. Blood, be cleansed. Body, be made whole.”

You are not ignoring reality — you are declaring God’s higher reality.

2. Resist fear and shame.
The enemy whispers, “You deserve this,” or “You will get worse.” But the gospel says, “You are forgiven, loved, redeemed, and carried.” Let God wash away guilt, regret, and self-blame.

3. Forgive freely.
Ephesians 4:32 says to forgive as Christ forgave you. Unforgiveness is heavy; healing flows best where the heart is clean and free.

4. Praise intentionally.
David said, “I will praise…I will rejoice…I will sing.” Praise is not based on emotion; it is a choice. Praise breaks heaviness. Praise shifts atmosphere. Praise invites the presence of God.

5. Keep your eyes on the Lord even while using medical help.
Doctors, medicine, and procedures are tools — but Jesus is the Healer. Let your heart stay anchored in His promise.

Finally, gently place your hand over your liver area and declare:

“Holy Spirit, fill me with resurrection life. Touch my liver with Your power. Restore what is damaged. Strengthen what is weak. I receive healing in Jesus’ name.”

Your story is not over. Your body is not forgotten. And Jesus, the mighty Healer, is working even now.

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND): Healing Prayer

The Willingness and Power of Jesus

A Good Shepherd’s Supply

It’s natural, when dealing with a challenging condition like Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), to ask questions about God’s will and timing. Symptoms such as non-epileptic seizures, functional weakness, or tremors can be deeply disruptive and frightening, making the need for swift healing feel desperate. We often cry out, “Lord, I need this and I need it quick. Could you just zap me?” Yet, sometimes, God invites us to “Come on up here… Sit down right here. You and I need to talk.” This invitation isn’t a delay tactic; it’s an invitation to deepen our “unceasing fellowship and unlimited partnership” with Him.

Let the words of the Psalmist resonate with you: “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing” (from the New English Translation). This promise of lacklessness is rooted in the character of God—a good, providing Shepherd.

The Compassionate Healer

Luke’s account of Jesus’ healing ministry gives us powerful insight into the Lord’s universal willingness to heal. Luke 4:40 says, “Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick… with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.”

The text emphasizes “every one of them.” This challenges the idea that healing is reserved only for those who meet some invisible “faith quota” or that it’s simply “not God’s timing” for everyone. The question is posed: “Where are the ones who didn’t have enough faith? Where are the ones for whom it wasn’t God’s timing for them? Where?” The implication is clear: Jesus’ willingness and power are the central factors.

Consider the leper who approached Jesus. He “humbled himself in the presence of Jesus.” Jesus was “moved with compassion and healed him immediately!” This is a powerful demonstration of the willingness of Jesus to respond to people in need. He didn’t debate or delay; He “clearly identified His heart’s desire to make the man clean!” This same compassion is extended to you, regardless of the complexity or severity of your FND symptoms, whether they manifest as gait disturbances, sensory issues, or chronic pain.

Commitment to Christ

Healing is one of the many privileges that belong to us as “new creatures” in Christ. Galatians 6:15 states, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.” As new creations, we are the “Israel of God,” and all the promises belong to us. The power of God, which is available to impact “Many lives… for God and good as a direct result of a physical healing,” is a direct result of the finished work of Jesus on the cross.

On Calvary, Jesus obtained an “eternal redemption for us” (Hebrews 9:12). An unknown writer quoted Job 33:24, saying that Jesus “has nailed the proclamation, ‘Deliver from going down to the pit (grave) for I have found an atonement.'” This atonement, which includes healing, means the matter has passed “out of our hands into God’s hands the moment we make a definite committal of it to God.” Our role is to commit it and trust Him.

Mustard Seed Faith and Present-Day Power

The Seed of Faith

When the disciples failed to heal the young man tormented by a “dumb spirit” (which manifested symptoms similar to epileptic fits—foaming at the mouth, gnashing teeth), Jesus gave them a foundational truth: “Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you” (Matt. 17:19, 20).

The focus isn’t on the quantity of faith, but its quality and object. You don’t need a mountain of faith; you need a “grain of mustard seed” faith. This small, growing, living faith, when placed in the all-powerful Son of God, is enough to move mountains—even the mountain of a complex diagnosis like FND. The power isn’t in your faith; it’s in the One in whom your faith is placed. It is the “God-Factor.”

The power that brought the Spotless Lamb of God out of the grave is the same power at work for you. Jesus declared, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me” (Matthew 28:18). This authority is what backs the promises of God, including divine healing.

Now is the Time

God’s promises are not for an indefinite future; “His time is always today.” We are commanded to “hear his voice ‘today,’ and says ‘Harden not your hearts’ by waiting” (Hebrews 4:7). The “imperishable seed” of God’s Word is supernatural, producing results when planted. The urgency of acceptance is underscored by 2 Corinthians 6:2, “Behold now is the accepted time.”

When you pray for healing for your symptoms, whether they are functional movement disorders or chronic pain, Jesus’ instruction is profound: “Believe that ye receive” (literally “take”) “now,” “when ye pray” (Mark 11:24).

This is a key to Spiritual Warfare: faith receives the answer before it is manifested. You declare, “Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard me.” This isn’t ignoring the reality of the symptoms; it is asserting the greater reality of God’s Word. When you cannot see or feel a difference, you say, “This is the time to trust.” You commit the matter—the entire FND condition—to God, saying, “Thou art now working in response to my faith; I count on thy faithfulness.” God promises to keep only what is committed to Him.

Humility and God’s Medicine

We are also called to “Humble yourself.” Humility opens the door to receive from Jesus. The woman of Canaan, whose daughter was grievously sick, initially received a difficult answer but persisted in worship and petition: “Lord, help me.” Her persistent, humble faith ultimately secured her daughter’s healing. Humility is not a passive surrender to sickness; it is active reliance on Jesus alone.

Remember that “God’s Word Is Medicine.” The Goodspeed Bible translates a prophetic passage: “It was our pains that He bore. Our sorrows that He carried.” Healing is provided in the atonement. Just as the Apostle Paul demonstrated real “peace and confidence in God” when bitten by a poisonous snake, your confidence must rest solely on the finished work and authority of Jesus.

You are a new creature, and the Lord is actively working. “I do all things well. I make the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak” (Mark 7:37). He fills you with strength. Stand on the promises of God, commit your healing to Him today, and let your mustard seed faith declare that “nothing shall be impossible to you.”
