Thyroid Cancer: Faith as Your Healing Evidence

The Evidence of Restoration: Walking in Strength for the Thyroid and the Whole Man

When a friend or loved one is facing a diagnosis of thyroid cancer, the news can feel like a sudden fog descending on a clear day. You may find yourself watching them navigate symptoms that are both physical and emotional—perhaps they’ve mentioned a persistent lump or swelling in the neck, a sudden change in their voice or increasing hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or even a persistent cough that doesn’t seem to go away. In these moments, it is natural to feel a sense of urgency, yet there is a spiritual “title deed” available to you and to them that offers a foundation of absolute certainty.

The Title Deed of Faith

We are often told that “seeing is believing,” but in the realm of restoration, the order is reversed. Faith is described as the “evidence” or the proof of things not yet seen. Think of it as a legal document. When you hold the deed to a home, you own that property even if you are miles away and cannot see the front door. You don’t wait to own the house until you walk through the rooms; the deed proves it is yours now.

In the same way, the promise of health for the thyroid, the lymph nodes, and the entire metabolic system is a settled legal matter. We are told that “He that believeth, hath.” This isn’t a future hope or a “maybe” if things go well; it is a present-tense possession. Even while the physical symptoms may still be speaking, the title deed of faith says that the punishment for our peace—which includes our physical wholeness—was already laid upon the Great Physician.

The Quickening of the Mortal Body

The same Spirit that raised life from the dead dwells within the believer. This isn’t just a poetic idea; it is a functional power. If that Spirit is present, He “quickens” our mortal bodies. To quicken means to give life, to energize, and to restore.

Think of the thyroid as a vital part of the body’s “engine,” regulating energy and metabolism. Why wouldn’t the Spirit that governs the universe be able to touch that small gland? There is a “mini resurrection” available for every cell. Just as the Master told His friends to “Touch Me, handle Me” to prove His body was real and transformed, we can expect a tangible, physical change in our own flesh. He is in the business of changing our bodies to be like His—full of life, free from “inflammation,” and clear of every “botch” or growth.

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Romans 8:11)

Removing the Burden of Struggle

One of the most exhausting parts of supporting someone through a health crisis is the feeling that you must “wrestle” the devil or “overcome” the disease through sheer willpower. But the reality is that the Spirit doesn’t go nine rounds with the enemy. There is no wrestling match. When the power of the Spirit is recognized, the opposition has only one choice: to flee.

You do not have to be a match for the disease in your own strength or your own mind. The authority of the name of Jesus is far above every realm of sickness, including thyroid cancer. Whether the spirit behind the infirmity is “weak” or “strong,” it cannot stand against the one who “does all things well.”

Willingness Beyond Ability

It is often easier to believe that God can heal than it is to believe He wants to. Yet, we see throughout history that His love is so vast it cannot be satisfied by only blessing the “holy.” It is extended to everyone, everywhere. He is more than able, but He is also “exceeding abundantly” willing.

When Zacharias and Elisabeth faced the “barrenness” of their situation, they had to move past years of unanswered questions. Even when Zacharias struggled with unbelief, the miracle was accomplished because the word had been spoken. Do not let “paleness” or “jaundice” or the reports of a scan dictate your confidence. The Great Physician provides strength for service. First, we look to the cross for cleansing, then to the Spirit for the gift of life, and finally, we receive the strength to fulfill our life’s commission.

“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;” (Psalm 103:3)

Notice the word “all.” It does not exclude thyroid cancer. It does not exclude complex cases. It is a total redemption from the punishment of sickness.

The Grace to Walk

Expect a healing, but also expect the grace to walk in that healing. Sometimes, restoration is an instant “zap,” but often it is a daily walking out of a victory already won. Abraham was counted righteous because he “believed God and acted accordingly.” He acted as if he had received the promise before the child was in his arms.

Encourage your friend to act on the evidence of the “title deed.” This doesn’t mean ignoring medical wisdom, but it means refusing to let the medical report be the final authority. We lay hands on the sick not with a “let’s see if this works” attitude, but with the certainty that “they shall recover.” We don’t do it “mealy-mouthed.” We do it like we mean it, because the Testator of the Will has risen from the dead to be the Mediator of that Will. He is the lawyer who ensures we are not cheated out of our inheritance.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

A Deeper Revelation

This journey can end in a place of total restoration. Satan fails even when he thinks he is “calling the shots.” Things often turn out exactly the opposite of what the “enemy of our health” declares. Instead of being pushed away, your friend can emerge with a “glorious body” and a spirit that is stirred up by the majesty of God.

Believe for your friend. Stand on the title deed. The evidence is in your hands, and the Spirit is already working to quicken, heal, and restore.

An Angel Stirred the Water

Healing Through Water: Spirit, Science, and the Supernatural

For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

Water is more than a basic necessity—it is a force of renewal, restoration, and healing. From the physical act of swimming to the simple act of gazing into a still lake, water speaks to something ancient in our bodies and souls. Across cultures and throughout Christian tradition, water has played a central role in healing, both scientifically documented and miraculously unexplained.

Swimming as Therapy
Swimming is one of the most effective forms of physical therapy. The buoyancy of water reduces pressure on joints, making movement easier and less painful for those suffering from arthritis, injury, or chronic illness. Studies have shown that water exercise improves cardiovascular health, boosts mood, and even aids in neurological recovery. Warm-water pools are often used in rehabilitation centers, and many people find swimming to be mentally soothing—a moving meditation that calms the nervous system.

Drinking Living Water
Drinking clean, mineral-rich water hydrates the body, flushes out toxins, and supports every cellular function. But beyond physical wellness, water often symbolizes something deeper. In John 4:14, Jesus says, “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” This living water offers not just hydration, but transformation. Clean water can heal the body; living water heals the soul.

Looking Upon Water
Simply seeing water has measurable effects on the brain. Studies in environmental psychology suggest that being near water—whether ocean, river, or fountain—lowers cortisol, boosts mood, and promotes mindfulness. This may explain why people instinctively go to lakes or beaches in times of grief or change. There is something mysteriously comforting about watching the tide or the trickle of a stream. In Psalm 23, David writes, “He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” This restoration is felt as much in the silence and presence as in the action.

Christian Sites of Healing Waters
Throughout Christian history, miraculous healings have occurred at water sites. The Pool of Bethesda, mentioned in John 5, is where Jesus healed a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. The waters of Lourdes in France, where the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette in 1858, have become a pilgrimage destination for those seeking healing. Over 70 of these healings have been officially recognized as miraculous by the Catholic Church. Each year, thousands come to bathe in or drink the spring water that flows there.

Science and Mystery
While science confirms much of water’s healing ability—hydration, sensory therapy, muscle relief—some stories remain unexplained. There are cases of tumors disappearing, autoimmune symptoms reversing, or chronic pain vanishing after immersion in sacred waters. Some scientists attribute these to placebo, but others leave room for mystery.

Whether through laps in a pool, a sip from a glass, or a quiet moment by a stream, water invites us to return—to ourselves, to our Creator, and to the hope of wholeness. In both spirit and body, healing flows like a river, sometimes logical, sometimes miraculous, but always essential.

Asbestosis and Healing Prayer

Asbestosis is a serious lung disease caused by prolonged exposure to asbestos fibers. Asbestos, a group of naturally occurring minerals, was once a common building material due to its heat resistance and durability. However, it is now known that when asbestos fibers are disturbed—through activities like drilling or breaking—it can release a fine dust that, when inhaled, can enter the lungs and lead to chronic respiratory conditions like asbestosis.

The Bible speaks to us about the healing power of God, and it offers hope and guidance, even in the face of challenging health conditions. While medical science understands the physical effects of diseases like asbestosis, it is important to remember that the ultimate source of healing comes from God. His Word teaches us that healing is not just for the soul but also for our bodies. As believers, we can approach health challenges with faith, trusting in God’s power to heal and restore.

The Power of God to Heal

The Bible is filled with stories of God’s miraculous healing power. Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and even raised the dead. One of the most profound teachings on healing comes from the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:24, which says, “Then his fame went throughout all Syria, and they brought to him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.” This scripture reveals that Jesus was not selective in who He healed—He was available to all, regardless of the sickness or condition.

Healing is not limited to what we can see or understand with our natural minds. It encompasses both physical and spiritual restoration. As we consider diseases like asbestosis, it’s essential to recognize that God’s healing power extends to every part of our being, including our lungs and respiratory system.

Believing God for Healing

In the case of asbestosis, it’s important to recognize that while the disease may have physical causes—like exposure to asbestos fibers—there is still the power of God to bring healing. The apostle James writes in James 5:14-15, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” This scripture emphasizes the role of faith in healing. The power to heal comes from God, but we must exercise faith and believe in His ability to heal.

Faith in God’s Word is crucial when facing illness. When you are battling a chronic disease like asbestosis, you may feel overwhelmed by the symptoms, but God’s Word offers comfort and promises of healing. Isaiah 53:5 assures us that “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” This scripture is a reminder that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was not only for the forgiveness of our sins but also for our physical healing.

The Role of Obedience in Healing

While God’s power is available to heal, we are called to live in obedience to His Word. This is important when seeking healing for any condition, including asbestosis. When we align ourselves with God’s will, we open the door for His healing power to work in our lives. It’s important to seek the Lord in prayer, not only for healing but also for guidance on how to manage the symptoms of illness, take care of our bodies, and seek medical help when necessary.

Asbestos-related diseases like asbestosis can take a toll on the body over time, but God is greater than any disease. In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus encourages us, saying, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” We are encouraged to approach God with our needs, and this includes our physical health.

Moreover, obedience to God’s Word means taking care of our bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Paul reminds us, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Taking care of our lungs and overall health is part of honoring God with our bodies.

The Importance of Faith and Prayer

It’s important to have faith in God’s ability to heal as we pray for physical healing. In Mark 11:24, Jesus says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Faith is key to receiving healing from the Lord. It’s not just about what we can physically see or what we can do in our own strength—it’s about trusting God’s Word and His promises. For those suffering from asbestosis, this means believing that God can restore the lungs, strengthen the body, and bring complete healing.

Additionally, prayer is a vital part of the healing process. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s will and invites His healing power into our lives. In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul encourages believers to bring their requests before God, saying, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” When we bring our concerns to God, He offers peace, comfort, and healing.

Trusting in God’s Timing

While we believe in the healing power of God, we must also trust in His perfect timing. Sometimes healing may come instantly, but other times it may take time. Whether the healing is immediate or gradual, we trust that God is working in our lives for our good and His glory. Romans 8:28 reminds us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Even in the midst of suffering, we can trust that God is at work.

In conclusion, while asbestosis may be a challenging and long-term condition, we can find hope in the healing power of God. He is a God who heals both physically and spiritually, and His Word offers promises that we can stand on in faith. Whether we are seeking healing through prayer, medical intervention, or a combination of both, we must remember that God is with us every step of the way. Let us approach our healing journey with faith, obedience, and trust in His timing, knowing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
