Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and Healing Prayer: Resting in the Life of the Vine

Receiving a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma can feel like a sudden storm that threatens to pull your focus away from everything stable in your life. You may be facing symptoms that feel overwhelming—swollen lymph nodes in your neck, armpits, or groin, persistent fatigue that sleep cannot touch, drenching night sweats, or unexplained weight loss. In these moments, the “bad reports” and physical sensations try to dominate your attention, but there is a higher reality that calls for your “absorbing gaze.”

To walk in restoration, we must look away from distractions and feelings. We must look at Jesus. Just as the Israelites in the wilderness looked at the serpent on the pole and lived, we look at the Son of Man lifted up for us. They kept their mortal life longer by looking; we receive both life for our bodies and eternal life for our spirits.

The Restfulness of the Branch

Think for a moment about a branch on a vine. If that branch could speak, it wouldn’t tell you about its hard work or its anxious efforts to produce grapes. It would whisper one simple lesson: Rest.

The branch doesn’t worry about the summer heat or whether it has enough sap; it simply trusts the vine to provide everything. When the harvest is good, the vine gets the glory. When you are facing an illness like lymphoma, your first job is to come and rest in your Lord Jesus. Let Him bear the responsibility for your health. You are the branch; He is the living Vine. Your life is one of entire dependence and deep restfulness.

Scripture 1: Isaiah 53:5

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

The “Strap Oil” of the Spirit

There is an old expression about “strap oil”—the idea that a good whipping settles a pouting child. In a much more glorious sense, the “stripes” (the whipping) that Jesus took settled the issue of your sickness forever. Sickness is not a “blessing in disguise”; it is an evil, satanic bondage.

By His wounds, you have been healed. This is a past-tense fact. We must believe and say what God says about our sicknesses. This is what it means to “confess”—to say the same thing as God. If He says you are healed, you say, “I am healed.” You might ask, “How can I say I am healed when I feel so tired or when my nodes are swollen?” You say it because your spirit needs to hear it. While you are saying it, you are hearing it, and it is feeding and nourishing your “inner man.”

Feeding the Spirit, Strengthening the Body

Just as you feed and exercise your natural body to make it strong, you must feed and exercise your spirit. Many people are weak on the inside because they don’t even realize they are a spirit. But you can become very strong.

Jesus said that man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. His words are spiritual food. When you read the Bible and hear the revelation of His Word, it pushes death, unbelief, and fear out of you. It has a “pounding effect” on your spirit, strengthening you to the point where “all things are possible” because you are a believer.

Scripture 2: John 3:14-15

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

The God who Makes the Bitter Sweet

When the Israelites reached the waters of Marah, they found them bitter and undrinkable. Their first thought was that they needed a new waterhole. Many people facing a health crisis think the same: “I need a new body,” or “this situation is unfixable.”

But we serve a God who can make the bitter sweet. He didn’t give them a new waterhole; He healed the one they had. He can take a body affected by lymphoma and “recover you and make you to live.” He is ready to save you. He is Jehovah-Rapha—the Lord who heals you.

Walking by the Sight of Eternal Things

Faith never waits to see before it believes. If it waited for the symptoms to vanish first, it wouldn’t be faith. Faith is the evidence of things not seen.

Abraham “waxed strong in faith” by looking at the promises of God and nothing else. To “attend” to God’s Word means to keep His promises in the midst of your heart. As a seed must stay in the ground to grow, God’s “imperishable seed” must be kept in your heart continuously. Don’t give God’s Word a mere glance; give it a steady, absorbing gaze. Look at the promise until the promise becomes more real to you than the night sweats or the fatigue.

Scripture 3: James 5:15

“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”

The Sacrifice of Praise

Jonah offered a “sacrifice of praise” while he was still in the stomach of the great fish. He called his symptoms “lying vanities” before he was ever vomited onto dry land. You can do the same. Even before the blessing is manifested in its visible form, you can offer thanksgiving.

Believing that God has already heard your prayer is the “good soil” that allows the seed to go to work. Renouncing the total reliance on earthly remedies and counting on His invisible presence strengthens your faith in an extraordinary manner. It establishes a new tie of confidence between you and the Savior.

A Prayer for Restoration

“Lord Jesus, I come to You as a branch to the Vine. I choose to rest in You today. I refuse to be distracted by symptoms or bad reports. I look at You, lifted up on the cross, taking my infirmities and bearing my pains. I thank You that by Your stripes I am healed. I speak strength to my body and life to my spirit. I believe I receive my healing right now. Amen.”

You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that did miracles in the early Church is in office today to do miracles in you. Be sufficiently enlightened by His promises, abandon the things which are seen, and lay hold of the eternal life that is yours in Christ.

Muscular Dystrophy and Healing Prayer: Moving from Weakness to Divine Strength

The diagnosis of Muscular Dystrophy can feel like a heavy weight, often bringing symptoms that attempt to dictate your future—the progressive weakening of the muscles, the difficulty in standing or walking, and the fatigue that suggests your body is running out of fuel. In these moments, it is easy to look at the “natural means” and feel a terrible discrepancy between the full blessing spoken of in the Word and your current experience.

But we must look away from modern tradition and go to the Word of God, which is the only true revelation of His will. Just as God brought the tribes of Israel out of bondage with “not one feeble person among them,” He is still the God who declares, “I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26). This is a never-changing fact, settled in heaven, and it is the foundation for your restoration today.

The Power of the “I Am” Confession

In the Kingdom of God, we do not wait to see before we believe. Faith is the evidence of things not yet seen. One of the most powerful things you can do in the face of muscle weakness is to align your speech with God’s Word. Scripture gives us a strange but mighty instruction:
“Let the weak say, ‘I am strong'” (Joel 3:10).

Why would you say you are strong when your body feels weak? Because while you are saying it, you are hearing it. You are feeding your spirit, and the strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily pain. This is not a theory; it is the exercise of faith. When you say, “I am strong,” you are not lying about your feelings; you are telling the truth about your redemption. You are nourishing your spirit with the reality of what Jesus has already provided.

Scripture 1: James 5:16

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Healing is in the Plan of Redemption

When we look at the “types” of healing in the Bible, such as the Year of Jubilee or the covenant at the Red Sea, we see that healing was always intended for all. If healing is in the plan of redemption—and it is—then it must be for everybody. To say otherwise would be to suggest that parts of Christ’s work on the Cross were only for a select few.

Jesus was anointed to heal the broken-hearted and to set the captives free. Sickness is a form of satanic bondage, and according to the Word, you ought to be loosed today. Just as Aeneas was healed and his recovery caused two entire cities to turn to God, your healing is a witness. You are meant to be “living evidence,” much like Lazarus, who became a sign that attracted people to the power of God.

The Quickenng of the Spirit

There are times when the body feels so fatigued that it seems impossible to “drag another foot in front of the other.” But the Word tells us that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you and will quicken your mortal body.

This quickening is a “taste of what’s coming down the road.” It is a divine Holy Spirit authority that strengthens, sustains, and enables you to do what you could not do in the natural. Do not watch your symptoms or watch the “rent” that is due on your strength; watch the Provider. We have seen God provide fourteen dollars when there was only one cent left; He is just as faithful to provide the strength you need when your physical energy is low.

Scripture 2: Amos 5:4

“For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live.”

Moving Beyond Formula to Relationship

In the book of Acts, there were seven young men who tried to cast out spirits using Jesus’ name as a “formula,” but they lacked a relationship with Him. Healing is not a theory or a magic trick; it is an overflow of the life of the Kingdom. When the apostles laid hands on men like Stephen, they imparted a divine authority that resulted in great miracles and signs.

The anointing and the laying on of hands are “pledges of the mighty virtue of the Holy Spirit.” They are points of contact meant to strengthen your faith. When you seek the Lord, you aren’t looking for a “remedy”; you are seeking the Person of Jesus, who is the remedy. He welcomes you, just as He welcomed the multitudes, to teach you about the Kingdom and to cure every ill.

The Sound of the Trumpet

Everything we do today is in anticipation of that final, glorious sound. Just as sure as the Bible is true, you are going to hear a trumpet sound that will be heard in every part of your being. The dead will be raised, and our mortal bodies will be changed. But we do not have to wait until then to see the power of God manifested.

Jesus gave His disciples authority over all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. That includes every form of Muscular Dystrophy. There is nothing bigger than God. You have a choice today: you can confess the testimony of your senses, or you can confess the testimony of the Word.

Scripture 3: Mark 16:18

“…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

A Decision for Strength

If you have opened the door to doubt through ignorance or the “fear of man,” today is the day to close that door. Do not be double-minded. Stand on the “It is written.” If God has spoken it, it is a present-tense fact.

“Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals me. I refuse to be a ‘feeble person’ among Your tribes. I say today that I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I command my muscles to be nourished by Your Spirit and my strength to be renewed like the eagle’s. I receive Your healing virtue right now. Amen.”

The Lord wills to set you free, wholly free to serve Him. Consecrate your body to Him today, and place yourself unreservedly at His disposal. The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise you up.

Multiple Sclerosis and Healing Prayer : Your Scriptural Right to Perfect Soundness

When the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is spoken over your life, it often feels like a “package” delivered by an enemy you never invited. You may be facing the “confession of your senses”—the tingling numbness in your hands, the heavy fatigue that feels like a lead weight, or the frustrating lack of coordination. It is natural to feel as though your body has signed a receipt for this disease.

However, faith exists in a realm entirely separate from feelings and appearances. In the same way that a consecrated Christian refuses to tolerate sin, we are called to a place where we no longer tolerate or “pet” our sickness. MS is not a way to glorify God; your healing is what brings glory to the God of Israel.

The Authority of the Word Over Tradition

Many people approach healing with the phrase, “If it be Thy will.” While this sounds humble, it is often a tradition that contradicts the finished work of the Cross. When Jesus walked the earth, He compared people in physical distress to an ox or an ass fallen into a pit. He asked, “Which of you would not straightway pull him out?” If we wouldn’t hesitate to rescue an animal, why would we ever think God hesitates to rescue His children from the pit of MS?

To obtain healing, the eye of faith must first see that it is already God’s will. Jesus was anointed to fulfill the Scriptures, and that fulfillment is available “this day” in your ears.

Scripture 1: Matthew 8:17

“That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”

Substitution: Your Divine Discharge

The Hebrew verbs used in the prophecies of Isaiah describe a heavy burden being carried away. When Jesus bore your sicknesses, He didn’t just sympathize with your MS; He took it upon Himself in your stead. This is the “mediatorial sense” of the Cross—Substitution.

He endured the burden so that you could be discharged from it. If Christ redeemed us from the “curse of the law,” and sickness is part of that curse, then your deliverance is a legal right. Just as thousands are baptized but may fail to receive regeneration because they don’t grasp the truth, many Christians fail to receive bodily healing because they haven’t “signed for” the package of health Christ already delivered.

Resisting the Testimony of the Senses

Satan brings the symptoms, but you do not have to accept the delivery. Disease gains ground when we confess how we feel rather than what God says. If you are struggling with paralysis or tremors, your “purpose” to have your body healed should be as definite as your purpose to have your soul saved.

We do not ignore the symptoms, but we redefine them as “illegal” occupants. When Mary Magdalene saw the resurrected Jesus, the disciples at first refused to believe. Jesus rebuked them for their “stubborn refusal to believe.” We must be careful not to fall into the same trap of unbelief simply because our physical eyes haven’t seen the change yet.

Scripture 2: Acts 3:16

“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

The Jubilee of the Day of Atonement

In the Old Testament, the blessings of the Year of Jubilee—freedom for the captive and restoration of property—could not be announced until the Day of Atonement. This is a powerful “type” for you. Your “Jubilee” from MS (the restoration of your strength and nerve function) is anchored directly in the Atonement of Calvary.

Because Jesus has already been the Atonement, the trumpet has already sounded for you. You are in the “Year of Liberty.”

Boldness at the Throne

When the pastor anoints and the elders lay hands, it is not a “magic” ceremony; it is an act of faith in the finished work. If you feel that your progress is slow, or if someone tells you “so-and-so wasn’t healed,” do not let their experience become your theology. Their lack of results does not change the truth of the Word any more than a person failing to be saved after baptism changes the power of the Gospel.

Scripture 3: Revelation 22:19

“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life…”

We must not “take away” from the promise of healing by adding “ifs” where God put “I will.” Stay with the Word as it is written.

Living in the “New Jerusalem” Reality

One day, there will be no more sea, no more pain, and no more disease. But Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Is there MS in heaven? No. Therefore, it is not His will for there to be MS in your body today.

He wants to give you a “long full life” where you see His salvation in every cell. Put your sickness away by faith just as you would put away sin. Don’t pet it, don’t name it as “yours,” and don’t give the devil a receipt.

A Prayer for Perfect Soundness

“Heavenly Father, I thank You that the Year of Jubilee is now. I refuse to sign for the package of MS. Jesus, You took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses in Your own body so that I wouldn’t have to. I command my nerves to be restored and my strength to return. I confess perfect soundness in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

The same Jesus who healed the man with the dropsy and the woman with the fever is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His compassion is precisely the same for you this very moment. Trust Him for the “greater works” and the “perfect soundness” that comes only through faith in His name.
